		<abstract>This paper describes a geobotany application for geological mapping in an area of Amazon terra firme forest. The Aster imagery was processed to enhance the response of the main leaves components and considering also the albedo. The obtained results suggest that this low costs method is adequate to be applied in rain forests.</abstract>
